We want to bring to your attention an important assignment that your student must complete early in the semester. The Academic Engagement assignment is required in every Canvas course your student is enrolled in, even if the professor isn’t using Canvas for other aspects of the course. Completing this assignment is not only crucial for your student’s academic success but also directly impacts their financial aid eligibility.

Why Is This Assignment Important? This assignment is designed to:

• Help your student set clear intentions for each of their courses and actively engage with the material.
• Ensure the University complies with U.S. Department of Education requirements, which is necessary for the disbursement of federal financial aid.

Critical for Financial Aid:
The completion of this assignment is directly linked to your student’s financial aid. The University must verify that your student is actively attending their courses, and this assignment serves as that verification. Without it, the Financial Aid Office cannot process or disburse your student’s federal financial aid.

The deadline to complete this assignment is Sunday, September 8.

Please Note: If your student is enrolled in a course that begins later in the semester, they should check their schedule in NEST for the exact start date. The assignment can only be completed once the course has officially begun.
